ABOUT SPIRE WINDOWS

Spire Window Systems is a premier, family-run home improvement specialist based in the heart of Louth, Lincolnshire. Established in 1989, the company has spent over 35 years building a reputation for excellence in the fabrication and installation of high-performance PVCu windows, doors, and conservatories.

THE PROBLEM

Spire’s current website was over 6 years old. It suffered with WordPress plugin bloat (20+ plugins!), slow load times. Mismatched design and clunkyness. Several agencies had made changes to the website in a 6 year period so the styling was inconsistent and the site felt plastered togethered. The conversion rate was also very poor. Impacting ad performance.

THE SOLUTION

Our primary objective was to elevate Spire Windows’ digital presence to match the premium quality of their physical craftsmanship. We moved away from a cluttered, dated layout to a sleek, modern aesthetic that prioritises user journey and visual storytelling.

Modernised Visual Identity

We introduced a sophisticated colour palette and contemporary typography to give the brand a more high-end, professional feel. By utilising generous white space and a clean grid structure, we removed the “noise” of the previous site, allowing the photography and core messaging to breathe.

Lifestyle-First Imagery

Recognising that windows and conservatories are emotional “lifestyle” investments, we swapped small, technical product shots for expansive, high-resolution lifestyle imagery. This helps potential customers visualise the products in their own homes, moving the focus from “frames and glass” to “light and living space.”

Optimised User Journey & CRO

We completely overhauled the site architecture to simplify the path to conversion.

  • Sticky Navigation: Ensuring the ‘Request a Quote’ call-to-action is always within reach.
  • Interactive Process Map: We redesigned the “Next Steps” section into a sleek, icon-driven horizontal module, making the complex installation process feel transparent and manageable for the user.
  • Showroom Integration: We gave the physical Louth showroom more prominence, bridgeing the gap between the digital experience and the physical product.
  • Mega Menu: we redesigned the old navigation to a feature-rich mega menu that showcases all Spire’s premium products.

Elevated Social Proof

Trust is paramount in the home improvement sector. We replaced static, text-based testimonials with a dynamic Google Reviews integration. This provides live, verifiable social proof that builds immediate credibility with new visitors.

Mobile-First Responsiveness

While the previous site struggled with scaling, the new build is fully fluid. We ensured the high-end “feel” of the desktop site translates perfectly to mobile devices, acknowledging that many customers browse for home inspiration on the go.

Optimised Product Page Design

We rebuilt the product pages from the ground up to give a much more premium feel to showcase Spire’s product offering:

THE RESULTS

  • Total page size was reduced from 5.6Mb to 2Mb.
  • Initial page load time was dropped from 5.4 seconds to 1.3 seconds
  • Plugins reduced from 21 to 6
  • Average Session Duration increased from 31 seconds to 56 seconds.
  • Conversion rate increased 72%
